I try, I fail.

I call, I mail.

No help

I yell.

I'm bad

I'm sad.

I sober.

But it's over.

Does a poem really have to rhyme ? I know it doesn't matter, but I think it makes it "meaningful" and interesting.

No, poems do not have to rhyme. That's what's so great about them. You can write whatever you want, however you want, and no one can really go in and tell you it's wrong. :o
